Today's topic is the Newly Founded Tachi Palace Fights, which is making its debut this Thursday October 8. The TPF is going to be a great addition to the MMA world and local community. There is some exciting bouts on this card and I personally can't wait to see the outcome this Thursday night at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino.
First off, I would like to touch a little bit on the Main event featuring Hanfords' Chad Mendes versus the tough as nails and heavy hitter Mike Joy. Some of you might not know Mike but check his record online or youtube one of his fights. You will quickly see why Chad believes this fight is going to be toughter than what he would have had against his previous matched opponent Chance Farrar. This fight should be an excellent matchup both standing and grappling. They are two hungry fighters looking to rise up in the main stream here at the Tachi Palace.
The same can be said about the Co-Main event featuring a David Terrel student in David Mitchell who is 7-0 and looking to make a bigger name for himself. What better opportunity to do so than to face one of MMA's most controversial stars, War Machine. It doesn't get any better then this.
The entire card is stacked top to bottom but their is one fight that I feel can possibly steal the Fight of the Night and it is between Martin "Tarzan" Sandoval vs Ulysses "Useless" Gomez. Both of these fighters have excitement written all over them. Martin brings an explosive striking game with wild wrestling style that is kind of hard to describe. Meanwhile, Ulysses is an accomplished grappler with an iron chin and newly improved boxing. We will see how this and all the bouts turn out this Thursday October 8 at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino. Also on the card is Michael "Mayday" McDonald (7-1), the "Tachi Kid" Poppies Martinez and Bellator Fighting 145 pound Champion Joe Soto. Joe is putting his undefeated record on the line against Mike Christenson.
As always there will be an after party immediately following the fights in the Den with Andrea from Danity Kane. Also, dont miss the big announcement of who "The Phenom" Mike Moreno will be facing at TPF 2 on December 3.
