Strikeforce rolled into town with good solid MMA action. We did not have the best seats in arena so most of our pics are walk-ins, fighters warming up and post fight pics.

Rico wins a unanimous decision victory. Both fighters did not inflict much damage on each other. Rico wins because of his repeated takedowns.
Cole Escovedo tko's Maurice Eazel at 1:47 of the first round. Cole catches Maurice and drops him to the ground. Cole then finishes the fight some ground and pound. The ref called the bout.
Casey Olson gets an easy win over Chris Culley. Casey gets a monster slam on opponent Chris Sully and finishes the fight with a few punches. The ref calls the bout to an end.
Ben Holscher goes through another tough fight but was able to use his wrestling to his advantage. Holscher wins wins by decision.
Zoila Frausto receives a fracture on top of her left foot on her way to a victory over the very tough Elisha Helsper.
Merrit Warren heel hooks Thomas Diagne in the first round of this three round battle.
Luke Rockhold improves to 6-1 with a good performance over Jesse Taylor (13-5). Luke fights off the early take down against JT and manages to get in a rear naked choke. The fight was called at 3:42 of the first fight.
Brandon Cash connects a huge right hand that sends Shane Del Rosario crashing to the canvas. The ref almost stopped the bout following some ground and pound but he decided against it. Congratulations go out to Shane for never quitting and continuing to work from his back. At 2:57 of the first round, Shane Del Rosario submitted Brandon with an Omoplata. I know Brandon Cash but winning a fight with an Omoplata is pretty sick.
In the main event, Billy Evangelista went the distance with Jorge Gurgel. The judges scored the bout 30-27. In the second round Billy was caught by a sweet left head kick on the chin. Billy went down to the ground but was able to recuperate very quickly. "You kept switching your stance, it threw me off and didn't know where the strikes were going to come from," Jorge Gurgel said to Billy after the fight.
Congratulations Billy on your big win. Let's hope Strikeforce recognizes this and finally gives you the title shot you have been working for and wanting for quite some time.
